FUNDING OPTIONS FOR PARENTS
We have summarised the various childcare funding offers available through the Best Start in Life website, which provides parents with a single, reliable source of information about all government-funded childcare schemes.
The Best Start in Life website includes a Childcare Calculator (www.gov.uk/childcare-calculator), allowing parents to compare the different government childcare offers and identify what works best for their family.
Parents can also pre-register for email alerts via the website, which will notify them when applications open and provide updates on existing government childcare funding options.
This funding is for working families, including those who are self-employed, in the uk. For every £8.00 you as parents pay into your account the government will add an extra £2.00 up to £2,000 per child per year.
UNDER 5'S FUNDING
All 3 and 4 year old’s are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education each week, for 38 weeks a year. You will not be charged a fee for this funded place. These funded places can be flexible (dependent on availability), to help you make the most of your child's entitlement as possible. These hours can be taken between 8am and 6pm.
The Government now offers working parents additional funded childcare hours for eligible children aged 9 months plus. At Paper Moon, we have carefully considered how we can support families in accessing this entitlement across our nurseries. To find out how you can use your additional funded hours, please contact your nursery directly and speak with the Nursery Manager.
2 YEAR OLD FUNDING
Some 2 year old’s may be entitled to 15 hours free early education and Paper Moon Nurseries offer places to families who are eligible for this funding. However, places are limited and allocated to those young children in most need and agreement from the local authority is required prior to the offer of a place. You can get more information about this from your local Children's Centre or Local Authority website.
CHILD CARE VOUCHERS
Huge savings can be made against childcare costs by paying for your childcare in vouchers which are provided by your employers.
We accept certain types of child care vouchers from employers who offer this benefit to their eligible employees as a paper or e-voucher.
Vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from NI contributions for employees, whilst offering NI savings for employers. Both parents are eligible to claim as long as they are both in employment. Further information can be found on the Childcare Choices Website.
